He was a threat to Manchester City throughout the game and nearly scored his first goal for Arsenal, forcing a difficult save from Gianluigi Donnarumma just before halftime.

Madueke did not participate in the second half, while Gabriel Martinelli scored a goal in the 93rd minute to secure a draw for Arsenal.

When asked about the substitution, Arteta stated that Madueke had an issue early in the match and was not fit to continue.
