The negotiations for Isak's transfer took place throughout the preseason, and Mac Allister stated that the players were initially excited about the possibility of signing him, but grew tired of the prolonged discussions.
Mac Allister expressed that the team was frustrated by the prolonged negotiations, saying, "At the beginning, it was a big thing and after a while we got a bit tired because it was too long."
However, he emphasized the value of Isak to the team, stating that they are "happy to have him here" and that he is "going to be really, really important."
Mac Allister also acknowledged that the transfer fee was significant, but felt that it was a fair deal for both clubs, saying, "Maybe the other club is not happy, but that's the way football works, they paid quite a lot of money so I think it's good for both clubs."
He added that Isak's arrival is a positive for the team, as they have suffered against him in the past and know his abilities.
