According to reports, Donnarumma's agents were seeking a contract package worth around £100 million, with a base price of £25 million for the transfer.
However, Manchester United rejected the option to sign Donnarumma due to the proposed contract terms.
Instead, the club signed goalkeeper Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp on deadline day.
