Jaouen expressed his excitement about joining Newcastle United, citing the club's passion and the warm welcome he received from the staff and supporters.
He stated, "I'm really excited to become a Newcastle United player. When I visited the training ground, I could see how passionate everyone is about the club and the work they do, and I loved the environment straight away."
Jaouen also mentioned his eagerness to experience the famous atmosphere at St James' Park and to become a part of the Geordie community.
As a young goalkeeper, Jaouen aims to develop his skills alongside the club's players and staff, enjoy his football, and prove his value on the pitch.
The reported fee for Jaouen's transfer was initially £24 million, but it was negotiated down to £18.65 million. However, the package could increase to £24 million if certain conditions are met before 2030.
This signing marks a strategic move by Newcastle United, investing in a young player with potential rather than making a permanent deal for Aaron Ramsdale from Southampton.
